With festivities celebrating the Denver Nuggets, we hope the rain holds off. At least it won't be beastly hot Downtown with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
Let's look at the hourly planner for not just parade day but into the weekend.
You see those rain chances start to climb again, as temperatures cool. As we pointed out in yesterday's post, Denver has only hit 85° twice this year, and that was back on April 11th and 12th. Denver's hottest temperature this summer so far is only 79°!
As far as today's storm coverage:
And timing shows the parade looks to be in good shape with storms starting to develop in the midday and afternoon:
Some of today's storms will produce heavy rain (therefore a street flooding threat), small hail, and lightning. Although the overall risk of damaging weather is low, one or two storms may become severe on the Palmer Divide and Plains, with large hail the main threat.
A similar thought is in play with tomorrow's storms although there will be more of them to go around.
Saturday remains unsettled but drier and then Sunday into early next week, Denver may actually have some summer days!
